Angelica

Sasha,

George and I would like to share some thoughts with you about our wonderful trip with Captain Ivan, his sweet wife Maja and the outstanding crew on the boat Angelica.
We chose the boat because the photos on your website showed a charming well-maintained wooden boat with lots of areas on the bow and stern to relax. We imagined ourselves having dinner at the gorgeous wooden table in the stern and lounging on the front cushions in the sun. The reality was even better than the pictures, because of who the Captain was and how he ran his ship.
He and the crew did an excellent job of giving us our space, while totally taking care of us. They were very professional and completely knew what they were doing. They made sure that we had everything that we wanted - paddle boards, great food and wine; and an exciting itinerary.

The consistent effort at meal time and the quality of the food and how it was prepared made a huge difference. There was always a clean white table cloth laid for us at meal times and the table set beautifully. The main mid-day meal was a real Croatian feast, coming in 3 courses. As we got to know the chef he started explaining to us how and why he put things together and what was typical of Croatia. His seafood appetizer and main course fish was always well-prepared. The deserts were dangerous - I always ate them, even if I was full. Maja made sure are glasses were full and on off times, she made sure there was always drinks and snacks put out as well.
I loved that Maja was on board. She brought such a warm presence - and made sure that we were well fed and had enough to drink, cabins were cleaned & clothes were picked up. Ten people for 10 days is a lot and she never grumbled even when someone asked, for the 3rd time, for another cappuccino. She was very kind - and really worked hard so that the main area of the boat was clean and orderly - a real feat with 10 people.

Finally, Captain Ivan is knowledgeable and capable. You know he loves the Angelica. Everything on board is in working order and if it stops working - he fixes it immediately. He is engineer so the moment the air conditioner started sounding funny - he just figured it out. Also, he retrofitted the bathrooms, so that they look like (and smell) like luxury bathrooms you would see at a hotel - not boat bathrooms. The cabins were simple in a nice way - lots of teak and fresh sheets.

Captain Ivan treated the crew with respect and kindness so you felt that they whole boat was very harmonious. Even during the anchoring, there were no fireworks - they somehow managed to make the Med mooring seem simple.

Most importantly, Captain Ivan is serious sailor - his early career was spent at sea and he loves Croatia, so we got to share his appreciation and passion for sailing from island to island. Once he understood that we wanted to explore things off the beaten track, he brought us into isolated coves in remote places, a hilltop monastery and other magical spots.

All and all it was a fantastic trip.

Best Regards,

Sara

San LiMi

Review of San LIMI Charter 9/16/2019

We chartered the San LiMI for a week's sail on the Dalmatian Coast in June, 2019. This was a three-generational trip, including two teenaged children. It was an excellent experience in all regards. We definitely would recommend it to anyone looking for an engaged week in Croatia.

The boat itself is more of a motor sailor than a sailboat. It has for cabins - one very large master suite, another king bedroom, a queen, and a double- bedded room. The profile of pictures of the boat as of the spring 2019 did not to it justice. It is very nicely appointed and decorated - modem and very comfortable. The boat had a full complement of water toys which we happily put to good use.

The Croatian crew was outstanding. All of them came from Split. Captain Leo Lemesic served in the Croatian Coast Guard and knows the waters like the back of his hand. He was always able to find a mooring for both daily water play and evening where we had space to ourselves without the intrusion of other boats close by. We explored the towns of the coast with him as guide and dined with some of his friends on the boat after a wine tasting.

The rest of the crew was engaged, courteous, and fun. Ivan, the chef, prepared a series of meals, all based on local ingredients that were spectacular. Jelena, who cared for us on the boat, was a joy of positive energy and care and Carlos and Andy were always available to help in whatever we were doing.

Mayrilou

Christine and Martin chartered catamaran MAYRILOU with their family, over New Year 2018/19 out of St Martin, Caribbean

'Dear Sasha
Happy New Year. Thank you so much for organising a wonderful charter for us. You were so accommodating and patient with us. I was delighted with the replacement boat. You organised that so quickly and efficiently and I am so grateful for that. I have already passed on your details to some friends. Our trip was perfect and a great way to celebrate Martins birthday which Luca made an amazing dinner (that even included a cake!).

We all absolutely loved our time on the Mayrilou. The crew were incredible. From Caroline's flawless captaining to Luca's sublime food, Cedric's ability to do just about everything; the man does not need sleep! And lastly sweet Dorine with the adorable laugh was such a pleasure to have around. I wouldn't have changed a thing (except perhaps the choppy crossings - which is no fault to Caroline - just the conditions). Caroline organised a great itinerary for us, spending time in St Barts, Anguilla and a sweet island off St Maarten.
The boat was so spacious and well appointed and allowed for anyone who wanted space to have it. The toys were a huge hit; especially the wake boards and seabobs.

Once again thank you for all of your help with the charter.
All the very best for 2019
Christine'

'Sasha,
The outstanding elements of the trip were the crew and the common spaces aboard. All the crew were very good, but Captain Caroline and Cook Luca in particular were exceptional. The onboard space was of a very high standard and massive for a boat of this length.

Anguilla and St Barts were wonderful locations and Caroline found the best anchorage especially for St Bart’s New Year fireworks!

Highpoint did a great job with our charter, especially given our original charter was cancelled at short notice, and you found a wonderful replacement

Many thanks'

Navilux

12 months ago we decided to charter a boat and experience some of the wonderful islands of Croatia with good friends of ours. I had never chartered a boat or for that matter been on a boat trip so this was foreign territory for me. As I started the long process of doing my homework so many reviews kept referring to this lady called Sasha King. I knew at this point I had to make the connection with Sasha and can I say from that point 8 months ago I have not looked back.

Sasha was so professional from day one. Her first priority was to hear our requirements of what we were looking for and then to start recommending what might be the best vessel option for us. I distinctly remember Sasha saying "Louise you have to look at Navilux, she is by far the best sailing boat on the Adriatic". I took one look and knew it was our dream boat, but I did my due diligence and also asked for some other alternatives. I kept coming back to Navilux for so many reasons; the award winning chef, the reputation of the family owned boat and local crew, the outdoor space, the stunning interior and the positive reviews I continued to find online about everything to do with Navilux.
We have just returned from a week sailing with Navilux with some of our closest friends and can I say all of us were completely blown away by the experience. From the minute we boarded the boat in Split we knew we were in for a fantastic week. The staff were so attentive to every need and completely exceeded our expectations in every aspect. Chief Hostess Ivana, and Captain Eugene and their team on the vessel are the most professional team and work very closely with the clients requirements. The dining experience on board was to the level of any A la cart restaurant I have experienced with fresh wonderful produce that suited our needs. Chef Z was also so kind to include my teenagers favourite meals of pancakes at breakfast and spaghetti bolognese at the drop of a hat upon their request! Tony who is the Host on Navilux looked after our food and beverage requirements day and night, and a day after coming off the boat my children were saying how much they were already missing Tony! The crew really became part of our group and part of our experience that will last with us all forever.
For anyone that is considering Navilux you will not be disappointed. This is a holiday you will never forget and will walk away being completely satisfied, from the minute you meet Sasha to the moment your holiday sadly comes to an end.
We cannot wait to get back on board Navilux again!

Angelica

Dear Sasha,

I knew that you would ask us that question and it is one that we both have been pondering as both gulets and their crews were equally superb.

There is a danger in reliving an experience which has been one of the stand-out holidays but in this case, the location, quality of the crew and of the boat were equal but the experience was different. With young children, the nature of the trip must change – and ‘Angelica’s’ crew were so good to our grandchildren. I never felt anxious about them on the boat or in the water. In fact, the youngest, Mikey, thought that the highlight of his trip were his chats with Nico – and the treats which Maya (excuse my spelling) supplied unceasingly. All children spent so much time in the sea, swimming, kayaking, on the paddle board that I thought they would grow fins!
At the same time, Ivitcha (excuse once again, my spelling) made sure that we saw different places to those which we visited last time and so our interests were also considered. The food was delicious and Matteo catered beautifully for Alex who is a vegetarian. In fact, we all suffered from ‘food envy’ with some of the dishes he prepared.
At no time was anything too much trouble and everything was done with a smile and a sense of wanting us to have a truly relaxing holiday. And we did.
Our middle grandson, Ben, wants to do it again in two years’ time . . . have to start saving.
Our daughter-in-law, Catherine, said, two days into the trip, that she had never felt so relaxed on a holiday before.
Our daughter, Alex, has not stopped thanking us and said that she didn’t realize how stressed she had been at work until she was on the gulet.
Sometimes as a parent, it is appropriate and rather nice to say,” We told you so.”
For ourselves, friends have commented on how relaxed and well we look.
So, we can’t compare the two boats – both have left us with brilliant memories but we shall talk often and fondly of our trip on ‘Angelica’.
With our thanks to you for organizing everything and for your recommendation of ‘Angelica’,

Felicity

Anna Marija

Dear Sasha
We had the most wonderful time on Anna Marija and a truly memorable trip to Croatia. We found it the most welcoming and interesting country, stunning scenery, incredible buildings and history – ancient and modern, delicious food, charming towns, warm and friendly people and beautiful weather so I don’t know what more anyone could want. All your advice was extremely useful and we liked both the hotels we stayed in – Hotel Luxe in Split and Grand Villa Argentina in Dubrovnik. The transfers you had arranged for us worked without any problems.
As for Anna Marija, Marko was a fantastic skipper and the crew were helpful and friendly – nothing was too much trouble and we were extremely well looked after. We were very grateful that they had made the effort to find the rose wine we liked with only a few hours notice. The space on deck was fantastic and we felt quite at home.
The route we took was lovely, bringing in some sight seeing, charming towns and lovely places to eat out. The water and swimming were beautiful.
I would like to thank you very much for organising such a special trip for us and for your patience and advice in answering all our questions. We very much hope to visit Croatia again some time soon as we feel sure there is so much more to enjoy there. I am recommending both Adriatic holidays and Anna Marija to my friend who may contact you as she is looking for a similar holiday in Croatia next year.
Many thanks again and kind regards

Kadena

Dear Elena and Sasha,
We arrived back yesterday after 40 hours from hotel to home and I have managed to spend 3 weeks in Europe answering
1 phone call and refusing to check any emails for the entire journey!!! So much more time …..
Now to the feedback. I guess the starting point is to go to the end when we finally disembarked at Dubrovnik. A few shed a tear and for those that didn’t there were certainly tears in their eyes. It was the end of 7 days which none of us will forget. A trip of a lifetime. I just hope the crew enjoyed us as much as we enjoyed them. If they didn’t they are certainly very good actors and huggers!!

THE CREW of Kuzman, Carlos, Ivan and Vlado were fantastic. They were unobtrusive but inclusive and nothing was ever a trouble. They were particularly good with the 3 little kids engaging with them, making them laugh and having fun in the activities yet we were always aware the Captain had passenger safety at the top of his mind. Nothing was ever a trouble.

KADENA. Better than anticipated and our anticipation was high. Very clean on boarding and maintained that way through the week. They had a few troubles with the air conditioning so it didn’t operate properly at times but these things happen. So 10 out of 10 for Kadena and without the air conditioning hiccup would have been 11 out of 10!!

Food. Vlado is a genius. The food on the boat was better than anything on shore. There was not one bad meal in a week and each day we were surprised at the next culinary masterpiece he produced from his “hovel”.

Itinerary. We now understand that there can’t be a certainty of itinerary. With the weather in the seas being a bit rough you need to go where the Captain says is safe. We were lucky enough to get stuck moored in Korchova for 2 nights!!

Otherwise we were so lucky to have private moorings where we could enjoy the peace and beauty and swim. If I was being picky the trip to the monastery at Miljet was probably the least best experience but I am being picky. Overall a 10 out of 10.

ADRIATIC HOLIDAYS.You have been very professional in your dealings and ever so helpful to all my picky questions and requests. Again I would be more than happy to recommend yourselves as I would Kadena. Just a couple of thoughts. Maybe explain to people that their itinerary will need to be a little flexible but the Captain will always ensure you see the “gems”.

I am glad I ordered in our own wine as the Croatian red wines were fine but we struggled with the white wines in Split and Dubrovnik. It did add to our enjoyment to be able to recognise Vlado’s cuisine with the wines we took and the champagne we consumed in anticipation. So you also get a 10 out of 10.

And those receiving this email will know I am a hard marker. The last time anyone got 10 out of 10 was when I marked my own exam paper!! So last years trip of a lifetime now becomes our second best trip of a lifetime.
Best regards

Sedna

Dear Sasha
Thank you for asking. We had the BEST time all being together as a family, and really chilling around the islands. The experience
could not have been surpassed, we were cocooned and feted by the crew, and Lara the hostess was able to anticipate any of our needs – whether
they be towels to dry up after a snorkel and swim, cold drinks, even just anticipating that first coffee of the day…..
Dario’s food was delicious and he catered wonderfully well for the Vegan, the Coeliac and the rest of us. Healthy, varied and
delicious dishes. Breakfasts were always various plentiful and fresh.
The sailings were fabulous and even on the days of the Mistral we kept to our itinerary and were sheltered from the worst of
the winds.
All our restaurant bookings were made for us and transport arranged and or the routes explained so we found everything very
easily and without any trouble.
Sedna was extremely comfortable, immaculately clean and spotless (Lara cleaned everywhere almost continuously). All the plates, cups glasses and cutlery were attractive and clean. Our cabins were comfortable…
A suggestion might be for them to get hold of a few more inflatables to play with in the sea….a lilo or a float perhaps for when they are anchored in a bay.

Thank you for all your help and guidance over the past few months. We all smiled from ear – ear from the moment we got up until we went to bed. We have taken away memories of our trip and Croatia itself which we will treasure for a long time. Croatia and the islands we visited and wonderful Split and Dubrovnik ( and I am glad we visited them in that order) is one of the most stunning places we have ever visited. So beautiful, we loved the people the stunning old towns, as we did the modern buildings as the country is growing and expanding in a very attractive style.
I wish Croatia and you continued success and will be sure to recommend your services and Sedna to all our friends
Best Wishes

Suzy
